Minu meelest joonistub pro EL-i jõudude tegelik pale üsna hästi välja. Suured investeerimispangad, rahvusriikide lõpu ootajad, demokraatia vastased jne. Peitku nad oma agendat kuitahes ilusate loosungite taha “meie Euroopast” või hirmutagu Venemaa kallaletungiga. Fakt on see, et nad kas kiidavad praegu EL-is toimuva täielikult heaks või teesklevad, et mingeid probleeme polegi. Kriis? Mis kriis?
….Michael Sherwood of Goldman Sachs International, who was name-checked by Mr Marr on the show alongside his co-chief executive Richard Gnodde, warned as far back as 2013 that if Britain left the EU: “Every European firm [of investment banks] would be gone in very short order.”
More recently, HSBC’s chief executive Stuart Gulliver raised the spectre of the bank moving 1,000 jobs from London in the event of a Brexit, although the bank confirmed its HQ would stay in London.
Morgan Stanley’s investment bank boss Colm Kelleher warned Brexit would trigger “a significant backlash against London as a financial centre”.
But Mr Johnson shrugged off any such warnings, saying: “These by the way were the people who engineered the biggest financial disaster of the last century”. Goldman Sachs International, the London-based arm of the US investment banking giant, declined to comment on Mr Johnson’s remarks……..
